We have many happy memories of all
the good times we had together and although most of us met Sam
through being ill in hospital, most of the memories we share are
based outside of hospital, including days out, parties, pizza
and video evenings, pubs and clubs. With Sam there
was always fun to be had.
Sam embraced life to the full, her
diary was always brimming with future plans and you had to book
your place early amongst work, holidays and conferences that she
attended all over the globe. She was full of passion and
had a great, or
wicked sense of humour depending on how you looked at it.
Sam also had a serious side, she was
a great listener if her friends had problems. The commitment
she showed to CF causes, of which she gave her time and efforts
for free was very special. She worked hard for what she
believed in but she was outspoken about what she didn’t.
There is so much more to say about
Sam - But here are some thoughts from her friends . . . . . .
‘Sam knew how to have fun, she
played hard but she also worked incredibly hard’, Sammi
‘Whenever we watched a video
together, you could guarantee Sam would always be asleep before
the end’. Bev
‘Sam never let the needs of Cf
dictate her future plans, her future plans dictated how she dealt
with her Cf.’ Rob
‘The first thing Ialways think
of with Sam is she always had her
bag of sauces on her everywhere we went she used loads.’
Claire
She called me her ‘ikle bruv’.
My surrogate big sister was my role model and CF mentor.
Sam shaped who I am now! - Mark
Sam will be greatly missed by all her
friends but we will never forget
her. She left us with many happy memories.
