James.

17.01. 1984 - 29.10.2005

A true friend to many people but to those who you really let in, you’ve left them in a bad way. Some of these friends can’t yet talk about you because it is still to sore, too hard and too unbelievable.

You were the most fashionable bloke we knew.  There is no doubt that you had style, it showed in the clothes you wore and especially in the legendary hair cuts you sported.

Even when you were feeling crap you were sociable, fun and ever ready to chat and laugh in the CF kitchen.  Out of Papworth you were even more sociable.  Whenever there was a party, you would roll up in your gorgeous white mini with your sleeping bag under one arm and pillow under the other.

Your love of the latest gadget was something we’ll never forget.  If we had the latest phone, you would have had it a month before and you were never seen without a really fancy car, computer or music system to play the latest tunes on.

From Sammi:

I particularly associate you with the Chilie’s, but I know others will have songs that when they hear them they’ll think of you.

I never had a conversation with you where I wasn’t smiling, just one look at you and a grin would spread across my face and immediately I was sharing in some private joke.  I don’t know how you had that effect but you did.  Often what people remember about a person is the way they make you feel and this is so true of you.

From Marc:

James was the reason why I own a three guitars!  We caused a lot of mischief when we had our admissions together.  We would laugh constantly for two weeks!!

From Ross:

Jk was all of the above a real trooper. He was always ready to laugh at the really shit things that we all go through as CF’s.  Never did I hear him complain about what was happening!  When things were really not going well, all he was vexed with was “the stupid bed” as he put it.

He was one of the best friends I have ever been privileged to know,

Wherever he is, may he rock on forever and eat Pretzels all day long!!!

From Claire:

James would never say a bad word about anyone and if anyone else was doing so, he would try and stop them.  I seem to constantly have a vision in my head of him bouncing round the kitchen laughing.
He was amazingly talented, one of James’ many talents was being the best foot massager in the world but he was honestly good at everything and I can’t help feeling what a waste it all is.  I can’t put into words how great he was.  Each morning I wake up and my heart sinks because I know I’ll never see him again. I would do anything to bring him back.
