LOUISE HICKEY ( 21/03/1971 - 12/08/1999)

Lou ment a lot of things to many different people. She was funny, generous, beautiful, loving and easy going.  Lou knew all the words to her Eddie Izzard videos and her video collection looked akin to the leaning tower of Pisa.

Her love for shopping was almost boundless, barely stopping even when her transplant bleeper went off in the middle of Cambridge.  She had nailcare that a manicurist would be proud of and an appetite for gossip that would make Dot Cotton jealous!

One of the things we will never forget about Louise, was her wicked sense of humour.
Whilst we were sitting on her bed waiting for the doctors to choose which set of organs to use, Louise said " this is like waiting for a bus, you sit and wait for ages and then two come along at once".

Thank you Lou, for the memories you have left us and the inspiration you gave to your friends and patients and staff at the Cf unit.

We know there is one star in the sky that shines brighter than all the rest.
